Environmental e-Learning for the Oil and Gas Industry
Xodus AURORA is working in partnership with Atlas Interactive Limited in the provision of a series of ground-breaking environmental e-learning modules for the global oil and gas industry.

Computer based training, or e-Learning, can have a number of advantages over more traditional training methods, and is a well-recognised training tool for companies with dispersed workforces offshore and onshore, and in various geographical regions.

Benefits of e-Learning:
Easy dissemination over a large target audience
Delivery of key training to new personnel in a timely fashion
Reduction in personnel resources required to deliver training presentations.

This is the first course of its kind and provides an invaluable environmental training resource to any organisation worldwide associated with the oil and gas industry.

Xodus AURORA provides the technical content of the modules, whilst Atlas manages the development of the software generation and the programme’s distribution. The e-Learning course provides a comprehensive overview of the environmental issues associated with the oil and gas industry and consists of a suite of modules:

Introduction to environmental management
Environmental good practice
Environmental impact assessment
Chemicals
Oily discharges
Atmospherics
Waste management
Oil spill contingency planning
Biodiversity.

These modules are already in use with BP, Chevron, CNR International, Marathon and Maersk with interest being shown by other oil and gas companies.

Each module takes the trainee approximately 30 minutes to complete and is aimed at a wide range of offshore and onshore personnel. The courses are interactive and include a variety of assessment techniques to evaluate the trainees understanding of each topic.

Single modules may be taken as a discreet course, or all the modules combined to provide a comprehensive environmental training course which will ensure companies meet environmental training required by their EMS. The module content is generic, and can be tailored to specific company requirements, if required.
