Development
Planning
Development planning is a complex and interactive process involving many facets of reservoir description, production technology, drilling, production planning, commercial, economics, subsea and facilities. Xodus personnel have considerable experience in integrating development teams, sharing information, challenging the thinking and inspiring new and innovative solutions.
Often development plans can be reviewed utilising structured brainstorming and facilitation techniques. By the use of our integrated team covering petroleum engineering, subsea, pipelines, deepwater, process, mechanical, structural, we identify key risk and cost drivers of a project and link them with the operators business drivers often with surprising results.
| Our core expertise in development
planning is: |
| › |
To understand the level of detail and the level of risk and uncertainties that are manageable |
| › |
To rapidly screen concepts to a manageable number through the use of advanced technical and cost definition tools |
| › |
To recognise and work concept differentiators or elements that affect overall feasibility |
| › |
To manage risk throughout the development planning process |
| › |
To provide a clear traceable path for all key decision making |
| › |
To align all key stakeholders in the decision making process. |
Xodus personnel have been involved with development planning jobs around the world from the North Sea to the West of Africa and from South East Asia to Australia. These range from small oil tie-backs in the North Sea, to large scale deepwater oil developments offshore Africa, to unmanned oil and gas facilities in shallow water in South East Asia through to world scale gas condensate deepwater developments in Australian waters.
Xodus recognise the power of benchmarking and analogues in the development planning process. We also recognise that clients have different corporate drivers and manage risk against functionality in different ways. We view our role as assisting and facilitating client decision making based on optimised development scenarios and the most accurate and relevant information. This means we only perform work that adds value and rely on our expertise, knowledge and experience to go from;
