Name: Claire Lochhead
Age: 33
Job title: Principal Pipeline Engineer
Wanted to be? Jockey, doctor or lawyer
What does your job involve? I currently work part time at Xodus as part of the Subsea Division, with the rest of my time spent chasing (or being chased by) two toddlers. At Xodus my role currently involves assessing subsea development options for potential field expansion of the North West Shelf of Australia. There are many small gas reserves scattered around the region and we’re looking at a range of concepts aimed at developing these to supplement the major fields supplying the LNG trains. It’s great to be able to combine my engineering profession, keeping my knowledge and contacts up to date, with raising my beautiful girls.
How is your role changing as Xodus grows? As the team grows in Perth I hope to gain experience within the other Xodus disciplines and be involved in all the phases of projects – from concept through to detailed design. My long term plan is to work full time once my girls start school.
Highlights? Bizarrely, for the first time in years I actually look forward to coming to work. I enjoy the job and I’m excited by the potential growth and development I see in Xodus. I also have a lot of respect for all my colleagues in the subsea team and I am delighted to be part of a great team. The bacon and egg butties on Friday mornings are pretty good too!
Worst bits? Weight gain! Too many morning teas with the boys. However, I have joined in with the Xodus volleyball team to justify the aforementioned butties.
Hobbies and interests? The good ones: running (slowly) and volleyball; the best ones: ice cream and drinking that fizzy stuff made from grapes. |
