XPLORE – Visual Interface
The XPLORE system visual interface has been built using Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 technologies and is best viewed using the Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) web browser (6.0 and above)*. This is a true thin client solution with no additional software required at the user end apart from the default installation of IE which comes pre-installed with Microsoft Windows. The interface is divided into five main sections:

The main window is used to display key system information and is sub divided into several further sections.
› The Menu System gives access to custom XPLORE pages as well as configuration pages.
› The Status Bar shows the current system mode as well as an indication on the health of any external communications link.
› The Tool Bar allows for easy access to the system utilities: Trending, Data Reporter, Tag Summary, Event Viewer and Help Guide.
› The Active Event Log is displayed at the bottom of every page and displays events which have not returned to a ‘Normal’ state.
The main window of a typical XPLORE web page has three distinct sections.
› The Graphical Area shows a schematic representation of the process being monitored, along with key pieces of process data.
› The Plot Area is used to show operating point data, pipeline profiles and trends of the process KPI’s.
› The Data Tables show a tabbed list of process variables. Grouped into related data, eg efficiencies, compositions, emissions etc. |
*Most of the functionality of the interface can still be accessed using other web browsers such as Firefox or Safari however the Microsoft.NET framework is not fully supported on these browsers.
