Environmental Impact Assessment
The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and consultation processes are important management tools ensuring that potential environmental hazards and effects arising from proposed projects are evaluated and that appropriate control measures are implemented. EIAs generally follow a standard methodology:
› Screening to determine whether an EIA is required
› Scoping to determine the issues/information that should be covered in the EIA
› Data gathering and the assessing of impacts, both positive and negative
› Developing appropriate mitigation measures
› Documenting and presenting findings
› Follow up monitoring actions.
By integrating stakeholder involvement Xodus Aurora ensures that projects not only comply with the legal requirements of statutory authorities, but also obtain the support of non-statutory communities thus avoiding project delays. We develop good working relationships with government departments, their statutory consultees and a wide range of non-statutory consultees.
