Rigid Pipeline Systems
Our knowledge supports clients developing rigid subsea pipeline systems, from a major transmission system to an infield flowline system, in shallow or deepwater. With leading edge skills, our subsea team develops the concept through to ‘Approved for Construction’ documentation.
Working closely with our colleagues from the Xodus flow assurance team in the early stages of projects, we rapidly optimise a pipeline system in terms of size, pressure and temperature rating. This, in turn, allows the pipeline mechanical design to progress early in the process, but with a seamless interface with the flow assurance activities.
In large diameter pipeline systems, issues such as the need for compression, the effect of pressure rating on wall thickness, installation feasibility and others with a major cost impact can be addressed quickly and with a high level of accuracy because the pipeline and flow assurance engineers are working closely together. Such efficiency is further supported by our materials and corrosion consultants who collaborate with our subsea and flow assurance engineers.
