Process Engineering

Upstream process engineering skills such as process simulation, equipment sizing and selection, process and unit operation selection, capacity assessment, troubleshooting and debottlenecking are provided by experienced engineers.

We have the core skills and systems to provide the entire suite of process engineering deliverables such as data sheets, design philosophies, lists and schedules, PFDs and P&IDs. The team combines a range of skills with experience gained from detailed design contractors and operators alike.

In addition, we support our clients in offering preparation and development of operating manuals and procedures and process safety studies. These typically include flare assessments, HAZID/HAZOP studies, HP/LP interface reviews and LO/LC valve assessments. We have several IChemE accredited HAZOP chairpersons within the team.

Through our integrated offering, we offer experienced engineers to assist our clients with, or perform root cause analysis to support, production loss or HS&E incident investigations. Our engineers have written and implemented procedures, trained RCA facilitators and are accomplished incident investigators using software packages such as TapRooT®. We also offer personnel who are experienced in business improvement analysis and human behavioural issues.

Process Control
Xodus offers process control including advanced control capabilities. Our expertise encompasses the design, development and commissioning of single loops to multi-variable control systems for applications such as slug mitigation, slug suppression, gas compression control and LNG optimisation.

Xodus takes a unique approach to advanced control that involves reviewing the entire process from an engineering standpoint to ensure that changing a loop response does not adversely affect the downstream processes. This holistic approach to control is complemented by our skills in dynamic modelling of flowlines and topsides processes.
