Hardware and Control Systems
An inherent part of any subsea system is third party vendor supplied hardware and control systems, such as Xmas trees, flow meters, etc. The supply of such systems is dominated by a number of global hardware companies and at Xodus we have made it our business to understand the products available from these suppliers. This knowledge enables our Subsea Division to assist in determining system functional requirements and how these requirements can be met by available hardware.
Our involvement in the specification and procurement of subsea hardware spans the delivery cycle from definition of an initial functional requirement to the management of the procurement of the equipment and associated interfaces. Typical hardware and control system deliverables developed by the Subsea Division include:
› Control system functional specifications
› Umbilical functional specification
› Metering philosophies
› Subsea metering specifications
› Multiphase metering and pumping technology.
Typically we have supported the selection and procurement of subsea hardware and controls from the conceptual phase to delivery via a ‘package engineering’ role. The key aspect of such procurement processes is managing the interface with the vendor and we have established links with all the suppliers which assists in ensuring alignment with both client and suppliers.
