The importance of improving or reducing our impact on the environment is not something which is going unnoticed by Xodus and a number of initiatives are being implemented in the Xodus offices worldwide to reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
The Orkney office, thanks to Xodus AURORA, has led the way with its award winning, environmentally friendly office building that includes a ground source heat pump, a sustainable drainage car park and eco-friendly features such as daylight and occupancy sensors on light fittings, non-reflective glass and a green cone for organic waste. The Orkney office even received the highly acclaimed environmental Vibes Award in recognition of its commitment, action and achievement towards reducing its impact on the environment.
Taking their lead from Orkney, staff in Aberdeen, London and Perth are now also working towards having greener offices. Composting biodegradable waste, recycling paper, cans and plastics, double sided printing and sourcing electricity from a green supplier are just a few of the ways in which the Xodus Group international offices are all doing their bit to reduce their carbon footprint.
The highlight of the programme so far however centres on the idea to install a wind turbine on the roof of the Aberdeen office, certainly one of the more outlandish suggestions but in line with Xodus growth and indeed our environmental credentials, the only way is up!
