It is less than a year since Xodus took the plunge and made the big move to London, and in that time the Group has doubled its workforce and outgrown its current premises. If ever there was a testament to the success of this expansion, this is it.
Proving that a presence in London is really paying off, Xodus has moved out of its start-up premises near St Paul’s Cathedral and is heading for Fleet Street to offices that can accommodate an ever expanding team and indeed allow for continued future growth.
Richard Heard, who spearheaded the move to London, explains the reason behind the success.
“London is the natural home of business, and this is no exception for the oil and gas industry.
“We decided to expand into London to take advantage of the benefits of its superb global connectivity and prime networking environment.
“The sheer range and number of oil and gas companies in London, both upstream and downstream, major and independent, as well as consultants, contractors, vendors, and professional services, make London an unrivalled networking hot-spot.
“Our expansion was designed to give us access to overseas markets and already this is proving valuable. We have recently won work in Indonesia for example, and we are already in talks with a number of London-based clients looking to apply the Xodus integrated approach to large international field development projects.
“Experience to-date has already confirmed that London really is a hub for business development and indeed the place where major international field development projects are being executed. Having a presence in the capital gives us access to emerging and established markets worldwide. Already we are seeing opportunities in key oil and gas regions such as North America, the Middle East and in the rapidly developing areas such as the former Soviet Union and North and West Africa.
“There were a number of factors key to the success of the expansion but in particular we had to make sure we had the right team in place to support and deliver our objectives.
“Our philosophy was to ensure that we could service new clients in London as well as we do in all our other locations, and that meant we had to get the right people.
“Fortunately we have managed to do just that and I am delighted that we have already attracted a core team who bring enormous, diverse international experience and most importantly, all of whom share our dynamism, drive and enthusiasm.
“We are less than a year into this new venture but I am confident that London will become a major operational centre for the Xodus Group.”
