A Leading Player in Oil and Gas Field Development

From a standing start Xodus Group has become one of the leading oil and gas field development companies in the world. A remarkable achievement for such a young company but one that is well merited.

With burgeoning levels of field development activity around the globe, Xodus are working on eight field development and concept screening studies for a number of operators including BP, Dana Petroleum, Svenska, OilExco, Woodside, Helix and Talisman.

Drawing on expertise from across the company's five Divisions, Xodus deploys an integrated team to undertake assessment studies and has the capabilities to produce the optimum plan for the production of a given field.

Integration has been one of the critical success factors for Xodus. Bringing together a truly integrated multi-disciplined team who are all capable of thinking out-of-the-box and are experienced in front-end field development has enabled Xodus to carry out studies in the UKCS, Australian North West Shelf, West Africa, Middle East, Canadian East Coast, offshore Western Victoria and Russia. Projects have ranged from relatively small developments with only a few production wells through to some of the large scale gas and LNG developments in the Far East and Australasian regions.

Integrating the design at the front-end offers operators considerable opportunity to optimise costs, design and project strategy. Being able to look quickly at a multitude of subsea or topsides concepts, and have this supported by specialist environmental consultants who will ensure work meets with environmental legislation and safety requirements, is a unique capability and something that Xodus works extremely hard to encourage.

Another critical success factor has been a flexible approach, that of which is key to the Xodus methodology. A flexible, tailored approach enables Xodus to rapidly develop and screen multiple development solutions to meet clients’ needs. Creating high level, yet robust cost estimates is also a key component within this methodology and Xodus has created an in-house tool to facilitate this process.

Combine this with the ability to deploy an integrated team to undertake assessment studies and it is evident why the Xodus Group has become a leading global player in field development. With proven capabilities to produce the optimum plan for the production of any given field, Xodus delivers a unique, unrivalled and integrated approach to field development studies.
