  Perth Pilots Mentoring Scheme

Xodus Group will implement a new programme that will see junior consultants and engineers paired with senior staff mentors to encourage open communications throughout the Perth office.

The mentoring scheme is an initiative from Perth’s management team that is designed to enhance new employees’ career development and progression.

New recruits will learn alternative options and points of view from seasoned staff members to find the best solutions for individual projects.

Paired employees will be encouraged to get together each month to go through technical information, work on specific projects, and to discuss client management techniques.

Perth-based field development planning manager, Kevin Hansen said the idea behind the mentoring scheme is that every employee has a mentor to meet with informally who can provide support, advice and help them develop their career.

The scheme is supported by a structured training program with Lunch & Learn modules intended to give an in-depth introduction to areas of specific technology or expertise.

Afton Galbraith, subsea systems manager, is leading the initiative and said junior employees will be matched with a senior mentor based on skill set alignment.

Senior staff will also have the opportunity to be mentored and will be paired with more senior managers to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to grow and develop professionally.
