Lifelong memories and laughs have cemented the foundation of the Xodus Subsea Division in Perth, as team building activities create many positive and lasting impacts.
Known as the ‘Umbilicals Team’ among their colleagues, the team has taken to mixing business and pleasure sharing planned weekends away in Western Australia’s picturesque South West region.
Subsea systems manager Afton Galbraith said a foundation of the company’s success was the combined strengths of its people.
“Building these lasting relationships with colleagues only strengthens our team, allowing us to move forward as a single cohesive unit, Mr Galbraith said.
“This benefits our clients by allowing them to capitalise on our combined strength to deliver high-end subsea consultancy services,” he said.
So far there have been two team building weekends: one at principal engineer, James Harris’ farm in Busselton and the other at Subsea Division director, Gordon Cowper’s beach house at Myalup.
“The team and their families have enjoyed casual barbecues, beach excursions and many laughs at various team member shenanigans, Mr Galbraith said.
“Without mentioning names, one consultant engineer’s ineptitude behind the steering wheel resulted in two bogging episodes – once in a flat, featureless field and then again at a designated beach crossing point. This was a source of great amusement for all and is something he won’t live down anytime soon, will he Nigel.”
