Process & Facilities
The future of process and facilities engineering is evolving rapidly because our clients are facing unprecedented challenges – diminishing supply of capital, low oil/gas prices and emissions reduction. Xodus has responded by providing industry with innovative, practical solutions built on outstanding technical expertise and experience.
Xodus has automated existing software to more rigorously analyse plant operating conditions and improve equipment performance. A recent investigation of a major offshore gas platform employed this analytical technique and demonstrated significantly improved compression train efficiency whilst avoiding re-wheel costs. Taking this a step further we can combine our traditional calculation tools into a bespoke problem solving analytical sequence, significantly reducing the time and cost of analysis whilst improving client visibility of the proposed solution.
Not only can we identify optimal operating performance, our visualization techniques are providing operators with low cost dashboards that monitor system trends and identify points of degradation. These dashboards can be retro-fitted to new and existing / older plants at a fraction of traditional industry software systems.
These industry leading examples are founded on traditional process and facilities engineering experience and expertise in :
+ Process engineering – system design, optimisation and operation
+ Instruments & Control – addressing the challenges of C&I obsolescence and providing cut over philosophies.
+ Electrical Engineering – power system design, with arc flash and load shedding assessment.
+ Piping & Layout – detailed 3D modelling for integration of brownfield modifications, with piping stress and vibration analysis.
+ Mechanical Engineering – providing vendor liaison and package engineering and management.
+ Structural Engineering and analysis – greenfield design and life extension using finite element modelling and risk based inspection.
We integrate these skills and provide solutions to:
Production system design and operation
+ Debottlenecking and troubleshooting
+ Operating and safeguarding philosophies
+ Energy efficiency and optimisation studies
+ Equipment sizing, rating, selection and performance, including CFD analysis
+ Flare & blowdown analyses, including risk based justification for non-compliant existing systems.
+ Dynamic simulation including HIPPS response times, compressor performance
Our capability spans concept development through FEED to start-up / commissioning and operating support.
Xodus are specialists in ‘Dynamic Process Simulation’ combining flow assurance and topside process software to provide a complete simulation of the whole system
Our techniques can call on a number of different simulation packages (such as HYSYS) and integrate them with bespoke calculations or spreadsheet data
