Our subsurface team undertakes a wide range of projects, both in scope and scale. The work is evenly split between outsourced technical studies, and advisory projects.
The scale of our projects range from a few manhours of advice on a potential investment by one consultant, through to multi-year exploration and appraisal projects with a team of thirty consultants spending tens of thousands of manhours. In addition to undertaking subsurface interpretations to understand plays and generate prospect inventories, we also design and manage seismic acquisition and processing programmes.
A particular specialty of the team is our work alongside project development specialists to provide a fully integrated surface-subsurface team to turn discoveries into developments or revitalise mature assets. Our subsurface experts work closely with Xodus’ in-house wells engineers, process and facilities engineers, environmental specialists and commercial analysts to provide a truly integrated development team with niche knowledge on complex projects.
Together with the Advisory team, the subsurface team provides CPRs and reserves audits and technical due diligence on transactions in excess of $10 billion each year. We are adept at handling subsurface uncertainty, revenue projections, capital requirements, asset integrity and decommissioning liabilities. We regularly work with banks and private equity, law firms and NOCs as well as smaller oil and gas companies. Our extensive knowledge, applicable across multiple disciplines, can be effectively deployed to advise on a variety of acquisition and divestment opportunities.
The Xodus subsurface division has recently added some new capabilities to the team, including:
+ Project Management
+ Associate resourcing
+ Multiclient studies
