Following the launch of ScotWind last week, along with the UK Government’s consultation on the next CfD allocation round including floating wind, the discussion around fixed and floating wind continues. The new licensing round, the CFD allocation and the need for floating wind to meet the 2030 and 2050 net-zero targets leads Xodus to believe 2020 could be the year when floating wind takes off in the UK.
With this in mind, Xodus has developed a modelling tool that allows our experts to identify where the ideal locations are; the so-called “gold mines” of floating wind, and where we can expect to see a rush for development.
