New appointment bolsters environment team

We have appointed Dr Nicola Bain as environmental specialist to develop post-consent support to clients in the offshore renewables sector.

With 25 years of experience at Marine Scotland and its predecessors, Nicola brings a wealth of experience in offshore renewables and regulatory compliance at all stages of the lifecycle of the project. For the last 5 years Nicola lead the renewables licensing and consenting team.

During this time Nicola was involved in all Scottish renewable energy projects across a range of technologies, recent complex infrastructure projects that Nicola was responsible for managing and delivering include the Neart Na Gaoithe, Inch Cape, Seagreen 1 and Moray West Offshore Wind Farms. Nicola has extensive experience in the post consent phase of the projects, recent project delivery includes the Beatrice, Seagreen 1, EOWDC and Moray East Offshore Wind Farms. She was also responsible for the licences behind Hywind, the world’s first floating offshore array and the development of the post consent management strategy at Marine Scotland.

Nicola will take the lead in developing post consent support in our environment division, which provides a breadth of environmental services to support clients across the value lifecycle of an asset. Nicola will also provide offshore renewable consenting advice across divisions.

With core competencies in the marine sector, the division offers services across the energy market including environmental engineering, assurance and governance, environmental and social impact assessment, environmental modelling and acoustics.
