Xodus, the global energy consultancy, has pledged its support for the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative’s (OCGI) ‘Aiming for Zero’ methane reduction scheme, further cementing its commitment to accelerating the transition to net zero.

The organisation has built up a wealth of experience in developing emission reduction strategies, expertise it will use to assist operators globally in their journey to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) output across the asset lifecycle.

As the latest company to join the scheme, which now boasts around 100 signatories and supporters, Xodus has committed to do everything it can to help clients reduce methane emissions produced by oil and gas assets to near zero by 2030. It joins major oil and gas producers bp and Shell, alongside a number of service companies and leading global consultancies.

Rebecca Hewlett, global sustainability director at Xodus, said: “Xodus is a world leader in emissions management and joining the Aiming for Zero initiative is a natural extension of our work to reduce methane emissions in the oil and gas industry. As part of our efforts, we offer extensive methane management services including methane action plans, OGMP 2.0 compliance and detection technology reviews and partnerships, providing our clients with the necessary tools to meet their reduction ambitions.”

Julien Perez, vice president of strategy & policy at the OGCI, which launched Aiming for Zero in 2022 said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Xodus as a supporter of the Aiming for Zero Methane Emissions initiative. Xodus’s expertise in emissions management and setting out methane action plans will help operators to reduce methane emissions at their oil and gas operations.”
